"Representatives from the medical community will discuss trauma injuries that can occur as a result of bike crashes."

Look, I know safety is a REAL issue with cycling and more people are getting hit as more people turn to cycling as gas prices climb. Most cyclists I see on the road around New Brunswick are unfortunately asking to be put 6 feet under with their total lack of knowledge of proper roadway cycling.

HOWEVER, I think the scare tactics of focusing in on "trauma injuries" does absolutely nothing to help cycling and is in fact very injurious to the cause of promoting cycling for transportation and recreation. I fear all this will do scare those interested people away from cycling instead of encouraging them!

Instead of focusing on how bad your corpse is going to look at your funeral I think it would be much more advantageous to focus on the proper skills people need to use while riding on the road AND THEN focus of safety gear.

I'm going to go to this and write about it for the local Morristown Green blog and try to ask about Andy B's points. I'm also a little bit curious if any part of this will be in Spanish. Anyhow have something else I should be ask, let me know on this thread.
